Earth Day Trash Bash, Iowa's largest Earth Day volunteer event, is a 2-day event (Friday, April 20 and Saturday April 21) including litter clean-up, invasive plant removal, park and public land volunteer projects to kick-off spring. We anticipate around 1700 registered volunteers. Last year more than 83,000 pounds of trash, recyclables and compostable materials were cleared away from our public spaces. Friday, April 20, captains can register teams at http://earthday.dmgov.org for one of our 70 locations (teams only). On Saturday, April 21 there are four locations throughout the metro and volunteers can register below here on Volunteer Local.

Special thanks to our planning team: Cities and citizens of Des Moines, West Des Moines, Clive, Pleasant Hill, Urbandale, Metro Waste Authority, Polk County Conservation, Polk Soil and Water Conservation District, West Side Chamber of Commerce, Iowa Natural Heritage Foundation, Ingersoll Business Committee, Trees Forever, Greater Des Moines Botanical Garden and Water Works.

Help us make Earth Day 2018 a success as we "GREEN UP" the Metro! Register yourself, your family or a team of friends to help out on Saturday, April 21 below.
