Thank you for applying to volunteer with the City of Des Moines Parks and Recreation! We are so excited you want to join our team of over 5,000 volunteers helping Des Moines Live Well, Play Hard, and Protect the Earth.
A background check is required for the volunteer role you are applying for, as it involves direct interaction with youth and vulnerable members of our community.
Santa Claus is coming to town, and we need your help with some jolly good fun along our holiday-themed loop.
Volunteers will help as event staff at this FREE family-friendly event where guests can walk along a holiday-themed loop with game and craft stations, listen to some holiday tunes, and enjoy hot chocolate, and snap a photo with Santa.

The first email will contain information about our background check process; the second will have details about the specific volunteer program you signed up for.
