Can Play Recreation

Join Des Moines Parks and Recreation as we host a new adapted recreation program, in partnership with Can Play. Adapted sports offer a range of physical, emotional, and social benefits for children with disabilities or chronic health issues. They are specifically designed to accommodate individual needs and abilities, ensuring that all children can participate and experience the joy recreating can bring.

As a volunteer, you will provide a positive role model, help them build self-confidence, self-esteem, relieve stress, improve their health, develop motor skills, foster collaboration, teach cooperation, and help them communicate with their teammates and build social connections.
